Illinois Deer hunting outlook for 2008

We are looking forward to an even better 2008 as we have continued to add the best possible hunting properties available. Recent additions include properties that have produced deer well over the 200 inch mark and have been featured in North American Whitetail Magazine. With the addition of more property we hired more knowledgeable and professional guides to give our hunters the focus needed to be successful. Having a year-round staff that is constantly preparing and looking forward to the next season has certainly made us more effective.

We have also added another lodge that will offer all amenities that is centrally located offering short rides to the majority of our hunting properties.

2008 may be one of the best years in terms of antler growth we have had in years. The wet weather has provided much needed forage and foods that will aid in the early stages of antler growth. This weather has benefitted us as we had an early start on our food plot program. We have seen rapid growth in our food plots and a lot of early traffic from deer using them for early nutrition.

We have also launched an upland bird hunting preserve that will allow our hunters the opportunity to hunt pheasant, quail, and chukar after they fill their tags. This 550 acre preserve offers ideal terrain and cover that makes for tremendous hunting. Our hunters will have the chance to hunt over Championship winning dogs. We believe that this opportunity will make for a more enjoyable experience for all who hunt with Western Illinois Trophy Outfitters.
